Select a template to enhance with a countdown timer
Determine which template you want to enhance with a Countdown timer section.
Add this section to
Single timer, all products
To have the same timer appear for all products, we recommend you position the section across multiple templates, such as the Default product, Default collection, and Cart.
Single timer, specific product(s)
To have a timer that only applies to a specific product or collection of products, we recommend you create a new template for that product or collection.
Multiple timers, specific products
To have multiple, distinct timers for separate products, we recommend exploring metafields and dynamic sources
Customize section settings
Click Countdown timer to open its settings.
Style the section
- Section height — Choose Small, Medium, Large, or Natural.
- Image — Click Select image to add a background image, then use the Image focal point dropdown to control how it's cropped.
- Countdown timer background — Turn on Show countdown timer background to add a background color behind the timer numbers, or turn it off for a transparent look.
Set the end date and time
Enter the Year, Month, Day, Hour, and Minute for when you want the timer to end.
The Hour field uses 24-hour time. For example, to end the countdown on July 16, 2026 at 2:30 PM, you'd enter:

Decide what happens when the timer ends
- Hide timer on complete — Turn this on to hide the section automatically once time runs out.
- Timer complete message — If you'd rather keep the section visible after the countdown ends, leave Hide timer on complete off and add a message here to let customers know the offer has ended.
Connect a product (optional)
Click Select product to link the timer to a specific product. Note that this same product will display everywhere this section is used, across every template it's added to.
Add supporting content (optional)
- Add a Heading and Text to describe the offer.
- Add a Button link and Button label to give customers somewhere to go.
- Choose a Button style, then customize its Text and Overlay colors to match your brand.
