Accelerated checkout buttons let customers skip the cart and proceed directly from a product page to checkout.
Depending on your theme version, this feature may be labeled Dynamic checkout buttons instead.
Accelerated checkout buttons can appear as:
- Buy it now — an unbranded button that sends the customer directly to Shopify Checkout.
- Branded accelerated checkout buttons — buttons for supported payment methods such as Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Amazon Pay, or Venmo.
The button displayed to each customer can vary depending on their device, browser, payment settings, and other Shopify-controlled factors.
Before enabling accelerated checkout buttons
Accelerated checkout buttons are designed for customers purchasing a single product variant and bypass the regular cart process.
Consider keeping accelerated checkout buttons disabled if your store relies on information or functionality that customers need to interact with on the cart page.
For example, accelerated checkout buttons might not be suitable if your cart includes:
- Order notes
- Delivery date selectors
- Cart attributes
- Apps or custom functionality that customers must use before checkout
- Other important information or selections displayed only on the cart page
Customers can still enter discount codes or gift cards during checkout.

Adjusting styling or messaging
The appearance of the button will either reflect the Colors settings or the branding of the payment provider (e.g. PayPal).
Translation or other adjustments for branded buttons would require an additional app or 3rd-party modification.
