The top section of the home page is often a store's most valuable real estate. To make the most of it, merchants use a Slideshow to showcase their deals and top-selling products.
There are two forms of the Slideshow: dynamic and static. The dynamic section is a recent addition to enhance more templates and accompany or replace the static slideshow.
Adjust section settings
Click the Slideshow section to open its general settings.
Enable or disable
Select Enable to activate the section. Disable the section by leaving the setting unchecked.
Slideshow layout options
Launch's slideshow comes with two Layout options: Full width and Full window.
Full width spans the width of the browser, but not the height.
Full window spans the width of the browser and expands into the navigation area.
Slide transition style
Have your slides Slide or Fade into view by selecting an option for Transition.
For slides to transition automatically, check the Auto rotate slides box, then use the Change slides every slider to control the duration of each slide (between 5 and 10 seconds).
If this is not enabled, customers can still scroll through slides manually using the arrows on the left and right sides of the slideshow.
Customize the slides
Return to the main sidebar to access the Slide blocks.
Click one of the preloaded Slideshow blocks to customize its content.
Add more slides by selecting (+) Add Slide.
Use Select Image to locate and connect an image.
Add some optional text content to accompany the image through each slide's Heading, Subheading, and Button text.
Align and style the text
Use the Text alignment to position the text aligned to the Left, Right, or Center of the slide.
Select either Light or Dark for the Text style.
Set up an overlay
The Overlay feature combines the slide image with a semi-transparent color to increase contrast between the image and text colors.
Use the Overlay dropdown to select one of the available options:
- None (no overlay)
- Gradient will use the Primary color and the Secondary color (set under Theme settings > Colors) to create a horizontal gradient
- Primary color will use the Primary color for a single-color overlay
- Secondary color will use the secondary color for a single-color overlay
- Black uses black for a single color overlay
Use the Overlay opacity dropdown to tweak the intensity of the overlay if you're using it. 10% is the most transparent, while 90% is the most opaque.
Slideshow cropping in mobile
The design of the Launch theme's slideshow will crop outer portions of the image to focus on the center. Considering this, it is best to include images that can adapt to this crop pattern. Images that include text can be especially affected by this cropping.
