If you haven’t yet launched your store, but want to let your visitors know that you’ll be opening soon, you can enable and customize your password page. Likewise, the password page can serve as a temporary landing page for your store for backend changes (e.g. new Startup theme, seasonal closures, etc.).
Activating the password page
To temporarily conceal your storefront from the public, go to Preferences in your Online store. In here you can Enable password.
Theme editor settings for password page
To access the password page settings, go to the theme editor (Customize) and select Password page with the template selector.
When this loads, a Password pages section should appear under Template in the sidebar.
Change the heading and other text included on this page by using the theme language editor
Gather customer emails
Customize the text that appears with the newsletter feature using the Newsletter text rich text field.
