Blog posts, also known as articles, are composed in the admin. There are some theme settings and features to consider, as well. Use the theme editor to show (or conceal date published, show (or conceal) post author, and use (or disable) share buttons for your blog posts.
Access Blog post settings
- In the theme editor (Customize), select Blog posts from the template selector
- Under Templates in the left-side settings, open Article pages
Optimize your featured images
The Featured image for a blog post is added outside the theme editor. Access the Blog posts portion of the Online Store to edit your articles and include these images. Empire requires wide, landscape-oriented images for the best results.
Images should have a width of at minimum 2000px for wider screens
Featured images for texture and background
Avoid images with text or similar details for this feature. Images will crop to fit the container for various device and window sizes, so images for background and texture are ideal.
If important information needs to be included in a blog post (e.g. graphic for a sale), consider adding it within the body of the article
Show date published
This shows a date stamp at the top of every article. Activate Show date published to display or disable to hide this detail.
Show post author
This shows the post author's name at the top of each article (besides the date, if enabled). Activate Show post author to display this information. Disable to conceal it.
Use share buttons
This appends a small series of social icons to the bottom of each of your posts, allowing readers to share your posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
Activate Show share buttons to display or disable to hide this feature.
