In the Settings page, you will find options to customize the placement and appearance of your notifications as well as options to configure how the app applies discounts.
- Multiple Discounts
- Multiple Special Offers
- Gift Offer Settings
- Order Discount Details
- Fixed Tax Percentage
- Applying Discounts
Using the Placement dropdown menu, you can adjust the position of your notifications on your storefront. You can also choose the background colour, text colour, and opacity of the notification so that it matches the appearance of your store.
If the default placement options aren't well suited to your store and you'd like to customize the placement, click the 'Advanced Placement' button at the bottom of the Appearance section to be given more options.
Using this snippet, you can customize the placement of your notification bars:
You can also choose to embed popups and notifications into the cart page by placing a particular snippet in your cart.liquid, cart-template.liquid, or custom cart file:
On Shopify, only one discount can be used in the checkout at once. If a discount from Ultimate Special Offers is already present, the discount code box in the checkout will be turned off. However, you can combine certain types of discount codes with your offers.
While certain types of Shopify discount codes can be combined with your offers, there are important limitations to keep in mind. For stability, it’s recommended to only use simple dollar or percentage based discount codes free of conditions. Furthermore, Ultimate Special Offers is not compatible with Shopify’s Automatic Discounts or free shipping discount codes.
To combine Shopify discount codes with your offers, enable this checkbox in your Settings:
This will generate a discount code box on your cart page when an offer has been triggered. If the offer hasn’t been triggered by a customer, the discount code box will not appear.
Once you’ve enabled this setting, you can also choose to apply your discount code before or after your offer:
Before: the discount code will apply to the total before your offer’s discount has been applied.
After: the discount code will apply to the total after your offer’s discount has been applied.
Lastly, by clicking the checkbox Let customers choose to use a discount code instead of Ultimate Special Offers, you can allow customers to choose between your offer or your discount code. When this setting is selected, a checkbox will show beside the discount code box in the cart allowing the customer to only use the discount code.
By default, the app applies one offer at a time in the cart if your offers are targeting the same product. Using this setting, you can have certain separate offer types targeting a particular product run at once. To have two offer types run at the same time, select the checkboxes next to the offers you want to run.
If you're using multiple Gift offers, use this setting to choose whether you want all Gift offers to be applied, or only the Gift offer with the highest spend goal.
The Order Discount Details section allows you to customize how the extra lines from orders are displayed within the order details. The three different options are as follows:
Show discount details in admin order pages:
Selecting this option will display all the extra discount details as line items on your Order Details page.
Show truncated discount details in admin order pages:
Selecting this option will limit the discount details listed on your Order Details page.
Don’t show any discount details in admin order page:
Selecting this option will disable all the extra discount details as line items on your Order Details page.
If your theme does not display taxes by default, use this setting to apply a fixed tax percentage which will be factored into your offers on your storefront.
Note: Taxes set up in your Ultimate Special Offers settings will not display in the checkout. The final tax calculation is configured in your Shopify Admin. Find more info on taxes here.
You can choose to have Ultimate Special Offers apply discounts using draft orders or pre-filled discount codes.
Create draft orders for customers to apply discounts:
With the draft order option selected, the app uses the draft order API to create discounts. When using this mode, you'll notice draft orders being created in your admin when customers use your offers.
Use a pre-filled discount code at checkout to apply discount:
Using the pre-filled discount code option, the app will create one-time use discount codes in the Discounts section of your admin. For stability, install the two Companion apps directly from the Settings page.
