You may see an alert on your dashboard letting you know that “offers don’t work with cart popups”. This means that Ultimate Special Offers will only work if you’re using a dedicated cart page instead of pop-up carts, mini-carts, and drawer carts.
To make sure customers receive their offers, a customer needs to move from the product directly to your cart page. If you’re using a Pixel Union theme, you’ll see that we call this function “enable cart redirect,” which redirects customers to your cart page when they click the "Add to cart” button. You'll simply need to activate that option in your theme editor!
To help make sure your customers are taken directly to the cart page itself, go to your Shopify Admin, click Online Store > Themes and click the Customize button beside your published theme to take you to the theme editor.
Once there, look at any or all of the following areas for the most common places to direct customers to the cart page:
In the theme editor, click on your cart icon to navigate to the cart page (or go to the Theme Settings tab and click on the Cart option). If there is a “Cart type” drop down then select “Page”:
If your theme doesn’t have this option in the Cart page, then follow along with the next steps.
2. Theme Settings tab:
In your theme editor you’ll notice a tab called “Theme Settings”. Click there and look for any of the following. Again this will depend on what theme you use and what version:
- Quick Shop: some themes may have an option within the Quick Shop settings to “enable cart redirect” or similar wording.
- Products: some themes may have the cart redirect option within the Products section of the Theme Settings tab.
If your theme doesn’t have these sections in the “Theme Settings” tab then follow along with the next step.
3. Product Pages:
Navigate to one of your product pages in the theme editor, and then click on “Product pages” on the left sidebar of the editor to open up additional options.
Look for the option to disable the flyout cart, enable cart redirect, or a drop down for cart type (choose the “page” type).
- If you have enabled a Quick shop feature, you may also have to enable the redirection in the Quick shop settings.
4. Homepage Sections:
The following sections may have Quick Shop functions that will need to be redirected to the cart page:
- Featured Collection
- Featured Product
